Family Therapy

Family therapy can be very complex from the psychologist's view point, because once we add additional people into the situation, we have to understand how this all works as a complete social system. In addition we have to be able to put together how each individual sees his world, in relationship to all other members of the family. Even though one person may be labeled "the patient" or the "problem child", it never is that easy! Nevertheless, well trained psychologists know how to separate out all of the variables, understand them, understand their interactions, then put together a treatment plan that everyone can agree with, in order to bring about healthy family interactions. While family therapy can certainly be challenging, at times, it is especially rewarding to see positive results, because it affects so many lives.
