Group Therapy
Group therapy provides a unique environment where social dynamics can reinforce therapeutic experiences. In larger cities it is very effective in terms of reaching desired goals, as well as being cost effective. Our experience, however, has not been overwhelmingly positive in this close knit community. Issues of confidentiality become more acute, since it seems that everyone has some link with someone else, outside of the group setting. We are trained and have had experience doing groups, but we have not used this method very often in our private practice.
