Play Therapy

Play therapy is a standard therapeutic technique used with children. Play, in a child's world, is the way that problems are analyzed and solutions explored. A child will tell you exactly what the problem is, if you can interpret the symbolic nature of the play. If you miss the point the first time, fear not...the child will continue to play out the issue again and again until the therapist finally makes the connection and offers the correct therapeutic response.
Gretchen has 35 plus years of experience doing therapy with children and has become extremely skillful at "reading" the symbolic nature of the child's play. Bob freely consults with her, whenever he is dealing with a child. Warwick Associates has two fully equipped playrooms, one for older children and one for younger kids, where they are "right at home" in engaging in fantasy play expressing their underlying fears, losses, and concerns.
